About

From live production to control at the glass.

The founders

Paymium was founded by Rodric David and Matt Price. They worked together at Thunder Studios, co-founded Amplivy, and co-invented the patent Paymium is built on.

Rodric David

Rodric is a serial entrepreneur with numerous successful exits, including Thunder Studios and Infinite Reality in 2022 and Enthusiast Sports & Entertainment in 2026. He has spent more than a decade in the entertainment industry, focused on live entertainment.

As an executive producer his film and television credits include 9/11 (Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg), Sweetwater (Richard Dreyfuss), Paradise Cove (Mena Suvari), the award-winning A Fighting Season, and Come Swim, Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut.

In 2013 he founded Thunder Studios, an Emmy Award-winning studio and live-broadcast company in Long Beach, California, with fourteen sound stages and a fleet of broadcast trucks covering live sport, concerts and events across the United States and Mexico. Out of that live-broadcasting business he pioneered the use of new technology in production. In 2015 he founded Thunder Gaming, focused on youth culture, and built a permanent esports arena to produce live esports events.

Rodric was an early adopter of game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity for real-time graphics, using them to power virtual production, and Thunder became one of the early leaders in the field. That work led him to co-found Infinite Reality in 2018, which used game-engine technology to build photorealistic 3D environments where audiences could explore and interact with live entertainment.

In January 2022 Display Social (now Napster Corp) acquired Thunder Studios and Infinite Reality in a transaction valued at $1.25B. As President of the combined company, Rodric oversaw its $470 million acquisition of ReKT Global.

Rodric remains a significant investor. Infinite Reality, now Napster Corp, has since made more than $1 billion in acquisitions, including the Drone Racing League, Landvault, Touchcast and Napster, and is today an agentic-AI company. Its platform deploys AI agents with video presence, real-time voice and persistent memory — for consumers, enterprises, developers and physical spaces — built on leading foundation models and offered through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

In 2024 he co-founded Enthusiast Sports & Entertainment, a sports and college marketing company working with brands, athletes and rights holders, and chaired it through to its acquisition in 2026.

Before Los Angeles, Rodric built, bought and sold businesses across Australia, Asia, the Middle East and North America, in distribution, construction, private equity and clean technology. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts and sits on its Board of Councilors.

Matt Price

Matt has run technology for more than twenty years. He was Chief Technology Officer of Thunder Studios from 2015 to 2018, responsible for IT operations, information security, application development and digital media, and has held senior technology roles at Overseas Shipholding Group, Nationwide Title Clearing and Ashley Furniture Industries. He is a co-founder of Amplivy and its Chief Technology Officer, and leads the engineering of Paymium.

The invention

In March 2017 Rodric, Matt and engineer Paul Kolesa filed a patent application for a content-aware controller at the display. It was built around one idea: the screen itself — “the glass” — could recognize what it is showing and act on it, for the venue and the brands that pay for its screens, without touching the broadcaster’s feed. The patent, US 10,129,594 B2, names all three as inventors. It was granted in the United States in 2018, in Europe in 2022 and in Canada in 2026. Our foundation →
